Day 1
Arrival
Land at Kilimanjaro, transfer to a quiet first night near Arusha.
Day 2
Tarangire
Elephant herds, baobabs, an unhurried first full day in the field.
Day 3
Ngorongoro rim
Drive up through farmland to the crater rim.
Day 4
Crater floor
A full descent day, down early before the vehicles arrive.
Day 5
Serengeti
Cross into the Serengeti, afternoon drive on arrival.
Day 6
Serengeti
A full day positioned for wherever the herds are.
Day 7
Serengeti
Sunrise drive, optional balloon, slow afternoon.
Day 8
Departure
Bush flight back to Arusha or onward to the coast.
Accommodation style
A mix of tented camps and lodges, chosen for where they sit rather than how many stars they carry. We will show you options at more than one level.
Transport & internal flights
Private 4x4 with a pop-up roof throughout. An internal bush flight on the final day is usually worth the cost — we will price both.
Best time to travel
June to October for dry, predictable game viewing. January to March for calving in the southern Serengeti. April and May are green, quiet and better value.
